European Commission Masters Scholarship for International Students in DCLead, 2018

The European Commission is delighted to announce Masters Scholarship in DCLead for International Students. The Erasmus+ programme of the European Union has granted over 40 scholarships to the Consortium. About 12 to 15 scholarships will be available every year, for three years, starting from the academic year 2016-2017.
The Master in Digital Communication Leadership (DCLead) approaches the vast and recent field of digital communication from an interdisciplinary and international point of view bringing together advanced academic discussion with practical knowledge and skills. The programme promotes a non-techno-deterministic, social and ethical reflection on digital communication for future leaders of the field.
In order to apply GRE/Test score is not required. If you have passed the test, the results should be included in the application.
Course Level: Scholarships are available to pursue Master degree programme.
Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded in any of the subjects offered by the university.
Scholarship Award: Partner Countries E+ Scholarship grantees receive a stipend of 1.000 EUR per month for the maximum duration of the 24 months, 1.000 or 3.000 EUR for travel costs depending on the distance of the home country to the coordinating university (University of Salzburg), and 1.000 EUR for installation costs. The grant also covers the participation costs.
Number of Scholarships: About 12 to 15 scholarships will be available every year, for three years, starting from the academic year 2016-2017.
Scholarship can be taken in The “DCLead: Digital Communication Leadership” is carried out as an EMJMD Programme coordinated by the Paris-Lodron-Universität Salzburg, Department of Communication Studies together with the Aalborg University (AAU), Denmark and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Belgium.
Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:
  • Candidates of all nationalities are eligible for Erasmus + Scholarship, although 75% of these scholarships are Partner Countries scholarships.
  • Candidates are not allowed to apply for a scholarship for more than 3 Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree Programmes for the same academic year.
  • Candidates should note the existence of a 12-months rule: any candidate from a partner country, who has lived for more than 12 months in a programme country within the five years’ period prior to the submission deadline, can only apply for programme country scholarship.
Nationality: Eligible Countries: 
  • Programme Countries are member states of the European Union (EU): Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, and the following Non-EU programme countries: Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Turkey.
  • Partner countries are all the other countries that are not Programme Countries.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirements: Students must have their previous degree.
English Language Requirements: Applicants must demonstrate their English proficiency. This can be done through the following tests and diplomas:
  • IELTS (academic test): minimum average score 6.5
  • TOEFL (paper-based): 560
  • TOEFL (Internet-based, or iBT): 88 – the institutional code is B398.
  • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency (CPE), Grades A, B, or C
  • Certificate in Advanced English (CAE), Grades A, B, or C
  • Cambridge First Certificate with the grade A or B.
How to Apply: The mode of application is online. Only applicants who will submit all required documents will be eligible for consideration.
In the first phase, candidates fill out the online application form and attach, where requested, a single PDF file of less than 50MB containing the following documents:
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV), based on the English template from the Europass website
  • Proof of identity and nationality (color scanned copy of the passport: all pages, including non-used pages)
  • A scan of the original (AND certified translation if the document is not issued in English or German) university diplomas.
  • A scan of the original (AND certified translation if the document is not issued in English or German) official transcript of study results from your university.
  • Original English test results, certificates or diplomas (see below the section about English proficiency). Students that are not in possession of a proof of English proficiency can simply indicate their level of expertise in the curriculum using the guidelines provided in the Europass template. Nonetheless, if selected, the proof of English proficiency is strictly required prior to registration (hence, within 4-6 weeks from the notification of the selection’s result). Nonetheless, please note that the submission of a valid proof of English proficiency at the moment of the application is favourably valued by the commission.
  • A Motivation letter. In the letter, the candidate should be explained how past experiences have prepared him/her for participation in the master in digital communication leadership, how this programme is likely to improve his or her own career perspectives, and why the candidate is interested in the topic of digital communication leadership. The motivation letter should be:
    • Typed using a word processing software before saved as a PDF file
    • 6,000-10,000 characters long, including spaces
    • Types using a Times New Roman or Book Antiqua font size 12
    • Page size A4
    • Typed using a 1.5 space in-between lines
    • The title of the letter should be in BOLD and it should read Motivation Letter by (your name)
    • Pages should be numbered
    • Note that handwritten letters are not accepted. A letter shorter than the minimum requirement is accepted, yet it is likely to be a disadvantage for the candidate.
  • Two (minimum) or three (maximum) Recommendation Letters. These do not have to follow a template. The only requirement is that the contact details of the person providing the reference must be clearly typed and must contain a business email address [not a private one] and a telephone number.
  • Name and contact details of three referees. These are the contact details of people who have collaborated with the candidates, which are willing to answer questions about her/him. One of these references should be an academic who has been a teacher or tutor of the candidate. Referees can be the same persons writing the recommendation letters or other contacts. Please note that the referees must be able to communicate in English or German.

The scholarships available are very few such as 12- 15 every year , it is necessary for the students to prepare well for the exam and also make the schedule for studying English to improve their proficiency very well.
