University of Adelaide Scholarships for International Students in Australia, 2017-2018

Adelaide Scholarships International (ASI) are open for pursuing higher degree by research (masters/ doctoral) at University of Adelaide. International students can apply for these scholarships.
The University of Adelaide aims to create and engender a university culture that values health, safety and wellbeing as fundamental components of the work environment, supported by safe systems of work, appropriate governance, training, management structures and operational strategies.
The University of Adelaide is one of Australia’s most prestigious universities and is renowned internationally for excellence in education and research.

Course Level:
 Scholarships are available for pursuing higher degree by research (Masters/ Doctoral) at University of Adelaide.

Study Subject: 
Scholarships are awarded to study any of the courses offered by the University of Adelaide.

Scholarship Award:
 The ASI provides
  • Course tuition fees for two years for a Master degree by Research and three years for a Doctoral research degree (an extension is possible for doctoral programs only),
  • An annual living allowance ($26,288 in 2016) for two years for a Master degree by Research and three years for a Doctoral research degree (an extension is possible for doctoral programs only), and
  • For Postgraduate Research (Subclass 574) visa holders, the award provides compulsory standard Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Worldcare policy for the student and their spouse and dependents (if any) for the standard duration of the student visa.  It does not cover the additional 6-month extended student visa period post thesis submission. If the award holder does not hold a subclass 574 visa then he/she is responsible for the cost of health insurance.

Eligibility:
 In order to be eligible
  • Applicants are required to have successfully completed at least the equivalent of an Australian First Class Honours degree (this is a four-year degree with a major research project in the final year). All qualifying programs of study must be successfully completed.
  • Scholarships will be awarded on academic merit and research potential. Extra-curricular achievements are not considered.
  • International applicants must not hold a research qualification regarded by the University of Adelaide to be equivalent to an Australian Research Doctorate degree or, if undertaking a Research Master degree, not hold a research qualification regarded by the University of Adelaide to be equivalent to or higher than an Australian Research Master degree.
  • International applicants who have not provided evidence of their meeting the minimum English language proficiency requirements for direct entry by the scholarship closing date, or who have completed a Pre-Enrolment English Program to meet the entry requirements for the intended program of study, are not eligible.
  • Citizens and Permanent Residents of Australia, and citizens of New Zealand are ineligible.
  • Those undertaking research via remote candidature is ineligible.
  • Candidates are required to enrol in the University of Adelaide as ‘international students’ and must maintain ‘international student’ status for the duration of their enrolment in the University.
  • Candidates who have applied for Australian permanent resident status can apply for ASI scholarships.
  • International applicants are not eligible if they have already commenced the degree for which they are seeking an award unless they can establish that they were unable to apply in the previous round.
  • Scholarships holders must commence study at the University of Adelaide in the semester the scholarship is offered.
  • Applicants who applied and were eligible for consideration in an international scholarship round, and were unsuccessful, will automatically be reconsidered in the following international scholarship round, assuming they hold a valid offer of candidature for that intake. An applicant who has been considered in 2 rounds cannot be reconsidered in any future scholarship rounds.
  • The offer of a scholarship is contingent upon a student not being offered another award by the Commonwealth of Australia, the University of Adelaide, or an overseas sponsor. The University reserves the right to withdraw an offer of a scholarship at any time prior to enrolment if it is advised that an awardee has been offered a scholarship equal to or in excess of the financial value of the award offered by the University.

College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirement: In order to be eligible applicants are required to have successfully completed at least the equivalent of an Australian First Class Honours degree (this is a four-year degree with a major research project in the final year).

English Language Requirements:
 The university’s preferred accredited English language tests are: IELTS, TOEFL, Pearson Test of English – Academic and CAE (Cambridge English: Advanced). Students without the required level of English will need to satisfactorily complete an intensive program of English language before being admitted to the University of Adelaide. The university can arrange an appropriate English language program, Academic English (PEP Pathway) in Adelaide at the university’s English Language Centre.

Quest University Scholarships for International Students in Canada, 2017-2018

Quest University is pleased to offer a range of scholarships to students of high academic ability for 2017 entry. All students, regardless of their country of origin, are eligible to apply for scholarships and/or financial aid.

How to Apply:
  • Scholarship applications can be submitted at any time before the relevant deadline but will not be reviewed until the deadline. All application materials submitted for admission will be considered during the candidate’s scholarship award review.
  • Students wishing to apply for scholarships must complete the Scholarship Application Form and submit a résumé, along with two recommendation letters. Your résumé should clearly outline your experiences and achievements. This may include employment, volunteer work, gap year projects, awards, hobbies, skills and so on.
  • They ask that one letter of recommendation be an academic reference, and one is a character reference. We will consider up to a maximum of four letters of recommendation. If students send more it is at the discretion of the admissions committee which four will be considered. Letters must be submitted as PDF files, signed and written on official letterhead, or be sent directly from the person writing them. Letters that do not meet these criteria will not be considered.
  • Students applying for the David Strangway Award for Excellence must also submit a maximum 300-word personal introduction to the Faculty Selection Committee. All documents must be submitted in a package together before the March 1 deadline.
  • The Scholarship Review Committee will evaluate each student’s application for financial awards (scholarship and/or aid) only once. After an award package has been offered, no other financial awards applications will be accepted.

National Scholarship Programme for Foreign Applicants in Slovak Republic, 2017-2018

Applications are invited for National Scholarship Programme for foreign applicants. The scholarship supports study/research/teaching/artistic mobility of foreign students, PhD students, university teachers, researchers and artists at higher education institutions and research organisations in Slovakia.
The National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic (NSP) supports also mobility of students and PhD students studying at Slovak higher education institutions.
In 2005, the National Scholarship Programme for the Supports of Mobility of University Students, PhD Students, University Teachers, Researchers and Artists was established by the approval of the Government of the Slovak Republic.
Course Level: Scholarship supports study/research/teaching/artistic mobility of foreign students, PhD students, university teachers, researchers and artists at universities and research organisations in Slovakia.
Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded in all subjects offered by the universities and research organisations in Slovakia.
Scholarship Award: The scholarship shall cover scholarship holders’ living costs (accommodation, board, etc.) during their study/research/teaching/artistic stay at higher education institutions, research or non-governmental organisations in Slovakia. Regarding the accommodation and administrative duties related to the entry to the territory of the Slovak Republic, scholarship holders can contact their host institution or they can arrange these issues themselves. In case of applicants from abroad, the NSP does not cover travel costs related to arrival and departure from Slovakia. Changes of the monthly scholarship amount are in force since the call for applications with the application deadline!
  • University student (2nd level of higher education): 350 €
  • PhD student: 580 €
  • University teacher/researcher/artist without PhD degree (or its equivalent) and less than 4 years of experience as a university teacher/researcher/artist: 580 €
  • University teacher/researcher/artist: with PhD degree (or its equivalent) and less than 10 years of experience as a university teacher/researcher/artist: 850 €; with PhD degree (or its equivalent) and more than 10 years of experience as a university teacher/researcher/artist: 1 000 €
Scholarship can be taken in Slovak Republic
Eligibility: The following individuals are eligible applicants for a scholarship in the framework of the NSP:
  • Students, who are university students abroad and will be participating on a study stay in Slovakia within their 2nd level of higher education (or will be participating on a study stay in Slovakia at least during the 7th semester of their higher education, i.e. in case that they are students of a joined study programme – joined 1st and 2nd level of higher education), and who are accepted by a public, private or state university in the Slovak Republic to an academic mobility1 to study in the Slovak Republic;
  • PhD students, whose higher education or research preparation takes place abroad, and who are accepted by a public, private or state university or research organisation eligible to carry out a PhD study programme2 (e.g. Slovak Academy of Sciences) in the Slovak Republic to an academic mobility1 to study/conduct research in the Slovak Republic;
  • Foreign university teachers, researchers or artists, who are invited by an organisation with a valid certificate of competence to carry out research and development seated in the Slovak Republic, and which is not a business organisation3 to a teaching/research/artistic stay in the Slovak Republic.
Nationality: Citizens of the following countries are eligible to apply for a scholarship in the framework of the NSP:
List of Countries: a) Member States of the European Union; b) other signatories to the Bologna Process (listed are only countries outside the EU) – Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Island, Kazakhstan, Liechtenstein, Republic of Macedonia, Moldova, Monte Negro, Norway, Russian Federation, Serbia (including Kosovo), Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, Vatican City; c) Belarus, Uzbekistan; d) Canada, Mexico, USA, countries of Latin and Central America; d) Australia, China (including Taiwan), Egypt, India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Republic of South Africa, Thailand and Vietnam.

Entrance Requirement: Scholarship supports study/research/teaching/artistic mobility of foreign students, PhD students, university teachers, researchers and artists at universities and research organisations in Slovakia.
Test Requirement: No
English Language Requirements: Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.
How to Apply: Scholarship applications are submitted online. Original hard copy of the Admission/Invitation Letter from a Slovak higher education institution or research organisation can be sent by scholarship applicant’s host institution in Slovakia directly to SAIA in Bratislava (please, note that in this case, the scholarship applicant must have at least a scan of the document, so he/she is able to attach it into the on-line application; otherwise he/she will not be able to submit the application). For the submission of the document the same requirements apply as for other documents submitted as original hard copies. Required documents that must be attached to the scholarship on-line application for a study/research stay in Slovakia in case of foreign university students and PhD students (category A and B):
  • Curriculum Vitae;
  • Cover letter (motivation letter);
  • Copy of a Bachelor/Master diploma, diploma supplement and state examination certificate (if any);
  • List of publications in required form, in case of PhD students;
  • Admission/Invitation Letter from a higher education institution or research organisation in Slovakia – host institution commits to accept the scholarship applicant for a study/research/teaching stay (the exact period of the stay must be stated in the document). The Admission/Invitation Letter must be issued on letter-head paper of the host institution and it must be signed by the person who issued the document. In case of PhD students, the Admission/Invitation Letter should not be just a formal invitation, but it should reflect the interest of the host institution in applicant’s study/research/teaching stay in the framework of the NSP. Period of the scholarship stay stated in the Admission/Invitation Letter must match with the period stated in applicant’s on-line application and on the date of the application deadline, it must not be older than 3 months.
    Required documents that must be attached to the scholarship on-line application for a research/teaching/artistic stay in Slovakia in case of foreign university teachers, researchers and artists:

University of Sydney MBA Scholarships for International Students in Australia, 2017

The University of Sydney is pleased to offer Business Leader Postgraduate Scholarships. These scholarships are open to full-time international and full-time or part-time Australian students for pursuing MBA programme.
The scholarship is intended to promote academic excellence at the Masters level in selected degrees offered by the University of Sydney Business School.
The University of Sydney is Australia’s first university, and a member of the ‘Group of Eight’, Australia’s premier research-intensive universities. It is ranked in the top 100 globally in all the leading world university rankings, including QS, Times Higher Education, and the Academic Ranking of World Universities and amongst the top four in Australia.
Depending on student’s educational background and country of origin, they may need to provide evidence of their English proficiency to be able to study here.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing MBA programme.
Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded in the field of Business Administration.
Scholarship Award: The scholarship covers 50% tuition fees and is tenable for 1.5 to 2 years full-time or 3 to 4 years part-time study. To retain a scholarship, the holder must maintain a continuous enrollment during their degree from the semester for which they sought entry. A continuous enrollment requires a minimum three units of study (18 credits points) annually.
Scholarship can be taken in Australia
Eligibility: A bachelor’s degree, graduate diploma or other AQF Level 7 qualification with a minimum credit (65%) average, or equivalent at an institution approved by the School and at a standard acceptable to the School (with the original transcript to be submitted at, or prior, to interview), with:
  • At least 3 years work experience and experience in a management position;
  • A Statement of Motivation; a one-page statement of motivation outlining what the applicant hopes to achieve professionally and personally by completing The University of Sydney MBA;
  • A selection interview establishing the candidate’s suitability for the degree.
Nationality: The scholarship is open to full-time international and full-time or part-time domestic students.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirement: The equivalent of an Australian bachelor’s degree or higher level qualification from a recognised tertiary institution, with at least a Credit (65%) average; a minimum of three years work experience and experience in a managerial role; and a selection interview. Students must also submit a CV and statement of motivation.
English Language Requirement: Depending on student’s educational background and country of origin, they may need to provide evidence of their English proficiency to be able to study here.
How to Apply: Applicants are required to submit an application addressing each of the above criteria, including certified details of prior academic results. Applicant performance against these criteria is assessed by a committee from Management Education chaired by the Associate Dean, Management Education. The committee nominates individual applicants on the basis of their application submitted. The committee will recommend the nominees for the award to the Associate Dean, Postgraduate Coursework for approval.
