NZ ranked second best-governed country in the world 



New Zealand has come second in a list ranking the world's best-governed countries.
The Legatum Institute, a policy research group, has released its yearly Global Prosperity Index, which looks at countries' national wealth, education and safety.
The research group looks at government, breaking it down into three distinct categories: Effective governance, democracy and political participation, and the rule of law. These are measured by figures such as voter turnout, legislative independence and the number of women in Parliament.
Finland tops the list this year, followed by New Zealand, Norway, the Netherlands and Sweden.
The list is dominated by European nations, but Canada, Australia and Japan also make the top 17.

UN Women National Committee Australia Global Executive MBA Scholarship in Australia, 2017

UN Women NC Australia and University of Sydney Business School are delighted to announce a new scholarship for Global Executive MBA program.
This scholarship aims to provide an opportunity for women leaders to participate in the leading Global Executive MBA program. Through education, women gain the knowledge to put in place policies, services and resources to fulfil the UN Women’s mission for gender equality and the empowerment of women.
The University of Sydney is an Australian public research university in Sydney. It is Australia’s first university and is regarded as one of its most prestigious, ranked as the world’s 27th most reputable university.
Course Level: Scholarship is available to pursue master degree programme.
Study Subject: Scholarship is awarded in the field of Business Administration.
Scholarship Award: The scholarship covers 66% of the tuition fees for the Executive Master of Business Administration. The scholarship is tenable for the 1.5-year span of the degree, where the Recipient fulfils requirements for the award of the degree. The recipient must maintain a minimum enrolment load of two units (24 credit points) of study each semester. Scholarship payment is applied to the Student’s tuition fees following the semester census dates of 31 March and 31 August. Prior to census date and after the student has been recorded to the award the student’s fee statement will reflect that 66% of their tuition fees is liable to Third Party. The recipient receiving this award is required to pay the balance of their tuition fees, their Student Services and Amenities fee and the relevant in-country fees for each residential Unit of Study.

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for scholarship:
Open to all women who meet the eligibility criteria for admission to the degree, Executive Master of Business Administration. Applicants need not have applied for the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) prior to applying for the scholarship however only those applicants deemed eligible for entry to the EMBA via the prevailing admissions processes are eligible to be awarded the scholarship. The degree is currently not available to international students requiring a student visa. Employees of The University of Sydney or UN Women National Committee Australia are ineligible to apply.
Nationality: Australian women applicants are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

University of Westminster Research Studentships for International Students in UK, 2017

The University of Westminster Graduate School is offering 22 new MPhil/PhD studentships which will commence in September 2017. These studentships will fund an annual tax-free stipend of £16,000 plus payment of Home/EU tuition fees.
The University of Westminster is internationally recognised for its research in a wide range of subject areas. They focus on excellence in research that makes a difference – benefitting academia, industry and professional practice.
Applicants should hold or expect to be awarded a 2.1 honours degree or above and preferably a Master’s degree, and should, where relevant, demonstrate English language competence of at least IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
Course Level: Studentships are available for pursuing a research programme.
Study Subject: Studentships are awarded in Media, Arts and Design, Life Sciences, Electronics and Computer Science, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Social Sciences and Humanities, Westminster Business School, Built Environment and Higher Education.

Eligibility: All applications are assessed on an individual basis and in some cases the University may require students to meet higher entry requirements than the minimums outlined below. MPhil/PhD applicants should normally have:

  • And preferably a Masters degree (or Masters degree pending)
  • Applicants whose secondary level education has not been conducted in the medium of English should also demonstrate evidence of appropriate English language proficiency.

  • Consider funding options – are there any Studentship or Scholarships available to the student or will they have to be applying as a self-funded student?
  • What documents students will be required to upload with their UKPASS application:
    a) Research proposal of between 2,000 and 3,500 words (four to seven pages) in length.
    b) Scanned copies of all your relevant qualification certificates and transcripts (if your award is pending, please upload the transcript of the modules already undertaken).

Charles Wallace India Trust Long term Awards in UK, 2017-2018

Charles Wallace India Trust Awards are available to mid-career practitioners in Arts and Heritage Conservation. The awards  generally from 2–3 months up to a maximum of a year and cover accommodation and living costs in the UK, fees and a contribution to international fares.
Every year CWIT offers up to 10 long term awards, aiming at giving early to mid-career practitioners a chance to study or gain wider experience and exposure.
CWIT enables Indians in the early to mid stages of their careers to spend time in the UK, helping them to achieve artistic, academic and professional ambitions and to broaden their international contacts.
Students need to demonstrate that they have a good level of written and spoken English.
Course Level: The awards are available for 2–3 months research in the Arts and Heritage Conservation.
Study Subject(s): CWIT covers the following Arts and Heritage Conservation fields of study: Arts-Visual Arts, Performance, e.g. Dance, Drama, Music, Directing, Film – including Script Writing and Direction, Photography, Design (but not Architecture), Curating, Art History.
