Academic Excellence Scholarships (AES) at La Trobe University in Australia, 2017

La Trobe University is offering academic excellence scholarships for students starting full-time undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs for Semester 1 2017. Scholarships are available for international students other than Australia or New Zealand in an area of study.
The aim of the academic excellence scholarship is to enable and encourage academically able students from any  nationality.
La Trobe will be a University known for its excellence and innovation in relation to the big issues of our time, and for its enthusiasm to make a difference. It is one of the top three Universities in Victoria, one of the top dozen nationally and one of the top 300 internationally.
Applicants must have scored 85% or equivalent in their previous degree/award, and meet English language and academic entry requirements. Applicants have to take IELTS test for entry, If they are having their TOEFL results sent directly to La Trobe, the TOEFL institutional code is 9785.

Rhodes Scholarships for International Students at University of Oxford in UK, 2017

Rhodes Scholarships are awarded for pursuing full-time postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford, UK. 95 Rhodes Scholars are selected from many countries around the world annually.
The Rhodes Scholarships are postgraduate awards supporting outstanding all-round students at the University of Oxford, and providing transformative opportunities for exceptional individuals.  The Rhodes Trust provides the Rhodes Scholarships in partnership with Second Century Founder, John McCall MacBain, and other generous benefactors.
The Rhodes Trust is an educational charity whose principal activity is to support scholars selected from 14 constituencies in order to study at the University of Oxford.
All applicants must have achieved academic standing sufficiently advanced to assure completion of a bachelor’s degree.
Course Level: Rhodes Scholars may read for any full-time postgraduate degree at the University of Oxford.

Scholarship Award: 95 Rhodes Scholars select annually from many countries around the world. University of Hertfordshire Scholarships for International Students in UK, 2016

The University of Hertfordshire is offering Vice-Chancellor’s scholarships for international students. Scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degree programme at the University of Hertfordshire.
The aim of the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship is to enable and encourage academically able international students.

The normal entry requirements are that applicants must have completed their degree. IELTS score should be 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in any band).

International Postgraduate Research Scholarships at University of Adelaide in Australia, 2016

The University of Adelaide is pleased to offer international postgraduate research scholarships in 20162017 academic session. Scholarships will be awarded to undertake postgraduate researchprogram in any discipline.
The University of Adelaide aims to create and engender a university culture that values health, safety and wellbeing as fundamental components of the work environment, supported by safe systems of work, appropriate governance, training, management structures and operational strategies.
The University of Adelaide is one of Australia’s most prestigious universities and is renowned internationally for excellence in education and research.
International applicants from any country who have a first class honours result or equivalent, to support their study towards a higher degree by research in areas of university research strength. The university’s preferred accredited English language tests are IELTS, TOEFL, Pearson Test of English – Academic and CAE (Cambridge English: Advanced).
Course Level: Scholarships are available for students to pursue postgraduate research program at University of Adelaide.
Study Subject: Scholarships are tenable in all subject areas at the University of Adelaide.
Scholarship Award: The IPRS provides:
  • Course tuition fees for two years for a masters degree by Research and three years for a Doctoral research degree (an extension is possible for doctoral programs only);
  • All successful IPRS applicants will also receive an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) which provides an annual living allowance of $25,849 in 2015 for the normal duration of the program; and
  • For Postgraduate Research (Subclass 574) visa holders, the award provides compulsory standard Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Worldcare policy for the student and their spouse and dependents (if any) for the standard duration of the student visa.  It does not cover the additional 6-month extended student visa period post thesis submission. If the award holder does not hold a subclass 574 visa then he/she is responsible for the cost of health insurance.
Note. The scholarship does not cover student visa application fees.
Scholarship can be taken in Australia
Eligibility: The selection and ranking of applicants within the University of Adelaide is undertaken by the Graduate Scholarships Committee, using the criteria of academic merit and research potential. Scholarships in this program have the following conditions:
  • In order to be eligible applicants are required to have successfully completed at least the equivalent of an Australian First Class Honours degree (this is a four-year degree with a major research project in the final year). All qualifying programs of study must be successfully completed.
  • Scholarships will be awarded on academic merit and research potential. Extra-curricular achievements are not considered.
  • International applicants must not hold a research qualification regarded by the University of Adelaide to be equivalent to an Australian Research Doctorate degree or, if undertaking a Research Masters degree, not hold a research qualification regarded by the University of Adelaide to be equivalent to or higher than an Australian Research Masters degree.
  • International applicants who have not provided evidence of their meeting the minimum English language proficiency requirements for direct entry by the scholarship closing date, or who have completed a Pre-Enrolment English Program to meet the entry requirements for the intended program of study, are not eligible.
  • IPRS scholarships can only be awarded to applicants applying to study in an area of university research strength.
  • Citizens and Permanent Residents of Australia, and citizens of New Zealand are ineligible.
  • Those undertaking research via remote candidature is ineligible.
  • Candidates are required to enrol in the University of Adelaide as ‘international students’ and must maintain ‘international student’ status for the duration of their enrolment in the university.
  • International applicants are not eligible if they have already commenced the degree for which they are seeking an award unless they can establish that they were unable to apply in the previous round.
  • To be eligible for an IPRS scholarship an applicant must not have held an AusAID scholarship within the 2 years prior to commencing the IPRS, and not be receiving a scholarship for which course tuition is a component under any other scholarship scheme to which the Commonwealth Government makes a substantial contribution.
Nationality: International students can apply for these scholarships.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirement: International applicants from any country who have a First Class Honours result or equivalent, to support their study towards a Higher Degree by Research in areas of university research strength.
Test Requirement: No
English Language Requirements: The university’s preferred accredited English language tests are: IELTS, TOEFL, Pearson Test of English – Academic and CAE (Cambridge English: Advanced). Students without the required level of English will need to satisfactorily complete an intensive program of English language before being admitted to the University of Adelaide. The university can arrange an appropriate English language program, Academic English (PEP Pathway) in Adelaide at the university’s English Language Centre.

60 International Research Scholarships at University of Technology, Sydney in Australia, 2016-2017

University of Technology, Sydney is offering up to 60 International Research Scholarships for the academic year 2016-2017. These scholarships will be awarded to eligible international candidates who demonstrate exceptional research potential.
It is aimed at attracting high-quality international students to work in areas of research strength.
The University of Technology Sydney is a university in Sydney, Australia. The university was founded in its current form in 1988, although its origins trace back to the 1870s. It is part of the Australian Technology Network of universities.
Applicants are generally required to hold the equivalent of a relevant master’s or bachelor’s degree with first or second class honours (division 1) or an equivalent or higher qualification.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing research programme at University of Technology, Sydney.
Study Subject: Scholarships are offered in diverse fields to help students in upgrading their education.
Scholarship Award: The UTS IRS only covers the tuition fees for a period of two years for a Research Masters degree or three years for a Research Doctorate degree. The UTS IRS is not transferable to another institution. The mandatory cost of a standard Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is not covered by the UTS IRS.
Scholarship can be taken in Australia
Eligibility: To be eligible for an IRS, a student must:
  • be an overseas student as defined in the Higher Education Support Act 2003 (Cth)
  • purchase and maintain a standard OSHC policy approved by the Commonwealth Government Department of Health and Ageing (DOHA)
  • be undertaking a higher degree by research (HDR) at the University in the year of the IRS (IRS scholarships are not available to applicants whose enrolment into a postgraduate research program has not been accepted by the University); and i. commenced their HDR in the previous year but who, due to the timing of their application and subsequent enrolment, were unable to apply for the scholarship in that year; or ii. commenced an HDR and terminated that enrollment within six months of commencement, or iii. are nominated by their Faculty/Institute for strategic reasons related to their research project, or iv. have been approved for a course transfer to a different Faculty/Institute
  • be enrolled as a full-time student
  • be an undertaking study in a subject area identified by the University as one of its areas of research concentration
  • not have completed a degree at the same or higher level as the proposed candidature
  • not be receiving a scholarship for which course tuition is a component under any other scholarship scheme.

University of Brighton offer New Postgraduate Scholarships for International Students, 2017

The University of Brighton is offering a number of scholarships available to both new international students and international Brighton graduates who are progressing to further study.
The aim of the University of Brighton postgraduate scholarship is to enable and encourage academically able students from any nationality.
The University of Brighton is a university of 20,685 students and 2,700 staff based on five campuses in Brighton, Eastbourne, and Hastings on the south coast of England.
Most postgraduate courses require an overall IELTS score of at least 6.5 with no element less than 5.5.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing a postgraduate programme at the University of Brighton.
Study Subject: Scholarships are offered to different departments across the university, all offering a diverse range of courses.
Scholarship Award: Scholarships will comprise
  • International scholarships: 30 University of Brighton international scholarships available to new, full-time international postgraduate taught degree students. The scholarship is worth £5,000 off the cost of applicant’s tuition fees for each year of their course.
  • Vice-Chancellor’s postgraduate excellence scholarships: Postgraduate excellence scholarships worth £3,000 are available to graduates with a first-class degree from a UK institution who progress immediately from undergraduate to masters level study with us in 2016.
  • Vice-Chancellor’s postgraduate alumni scholarships: Scholarships worth £3,000 are available to University of Brighton students who graduate with a first or 2:1 in 2015/16 and progress to masters study with us.
  • International Huxley scholarships: A number of £2,000 scholarships for international students studying certain MSc and MRes programmes within the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences.
  • Sports scholarships: These scholarships are paid in the autumn of the year they are awarded. They are partly funded by the university’s ambassadors group.
  • Santander international masters scholarships: Up to ten masters scholarships funded by the Santander Universities network, worth a tuition fee reduction of £5,000, are available to new full-time postgraduate students starting taught degrees in 2016.
  • Global opportunities scholarships: Scholarships provide up to £15,000 to cover living costs and a fee waiver for postgraduate taught study on selected courses.
  • International research scholarship: A minimum of two international research scholarships worth the full tuition fee for each year of research degree (for up to a maximum of three years) are available to outstanding international research students in all areas of study.
  • Santander research scholarships: two research scholarships worth £5,000 each, funded by Santander Universities

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for these scholarships:
  • International scholarships: To be eligible to apply for a scholarship, applicants must be a new, full-time, international fee status student who holds an offer for a postgraduate taught degree with a minimum course duration of one year.
  • Vice-Chancellor’s postgraduate excellence scholarships: The Vice-Chancellor’s postgraduate excellence scholarship is only available to graduates who obtain a first-class degree from a UK institution in 2015/16. Eligible graduates must be applying to start a masters course in 2016 or for deferred entry (maximum one year).
  • Vice-Chancellor’s postgraduate alumni scholarships: The Vice-Chancellor’s postgraduate alumni scholarship is only available to University of Brighton alumni who graduate with a first or 2:1 in 2015/16.
  • International Huxley scholarships: In order to be eligible to apply for a Huxley scholarship applicant must be a new, full-time, self-funding international masters student on one of the following courses:Biomedical Sciences MSc, Clinical Pharmacy MSc, Industrial Pharmaceutical Sciences MSc, Pharmacology MSc, Bioscience MRes, Chemistry MRes, Ecology MRes and Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences MRes
  • Sports scholarships: Two different types of sports scholarships:
    1. The elite athletes / elite disabled athletes scholarships are for students who have reached a national level of competition or performance and have the potential and dedication to reach world-class performance level.
    2. The talented sports performers scholarship is for students who have represented their sport at the national or regional level or who are able to demonstrate that they have the potential to compete at these levels.
  • Santander international masters scholarships: Applicants must hold an offer of admission to a one-year, full-time Masters programme in any subject at the University of Brighton by the advertised deadlines for the International Scholarships; this offer can be unconditional or conditional.
  • Global opportunities scholarships: To be considered for one of these scholarships, applicants must satisfy all of the following criteria:
    1. Received an academic offer for postgraduate study starting in September 2016 on one of the eligible courses
    2. an asylum seeker or you have been refused asylum but have been granted some other form of temporary status eg. humanitarian protection, unaccompanied asylum seeking children (UASC) leave or limited leave
    3. Applicants currently live in East or West Sussex
    4. Unable to access postgraduate finance through the current UK Government student finance system
  • International research scholarship: In order to be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be a new, full-time international research student with an unconditional place for entry in October 2016.
  • Santander research scholarships: To be eligible for one of these scholarships, applicants need to be: a current postgraduate research student enrolled at  the University of Brighton or Brighton & Sussex Medical School and in addition either a research student from one of the Santander Universities network countries.
Nationality: UK/EU and international students are eligible to apply.
