As a top 100 university and ranked in the top 0.4% of universities in the world, Lund University attracts high achieving students from across the globe. The Lund University Global Scholarship programme seeks to recognise these students by awarding academic excellence grants.

Priority will be given to students with high academic performance, who are assessed as a good fit for the programme and who demonstrate a strong commitment and desire to study at Lund University. As the scholarship is merit-based only, no consideration is taken of the students’ financial needs in the selection process.

How to Apply: -To apply for a Lund University Global Scholarship, you must first apply for the programme(s) or free-standing course(s) you wish to study at Lund University using the online, national application website, during the application period. Once you have made a complete application to a degree programme or free-standing courses of at least 30 ECTS credits and paid the application fee, you will receive information about how to apply for the scholarship. For autumn 2016 studies, this will be communicated to applicants after the application period to their programmes is over, i.e. in early February.
-As part of this online application, you need to upload your scholarship ‘motivation letter’ (maximum 600 words). Please note that the scholarship “motivation letter” is different from any statement of purpose you may be required to submit as part of your programme application documents.  Your scholarship personal “motivation letter” should explain why your academic performance and reasons for applying to Lund University make you an appropriate recipient for a Lund University Global Scholarship.
-You can only apply for one Lund University Global Scholarship per programme or free-standing course. However, it is still possible for you to apply to other scholarships, such as (for example) the Swedish Institute scholarships.

Ramanujan Research Studentship in Mathematics at Trinity College, Cambridge in UK, 2016



Trinity College, University of Cambridge is offering Ramanujan Research Studentship for students who wish to undertake research in Mathematics. Student should hold a first class honours degree or its equivalent from any university or comparable institution in India. The studentship covers graduate course fees for the MASt, discretionary maintenance allowance and return ticket from the country of origin to the United Kingdom for overseas students. Scholarship Description: To commemorate the connection between the renowned Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan and Trinity College, the College hopes to award a Ramanujan Research Studentship to a student from India who wishes to undertake a PhD in the broad fields of Pure or Applied Mathematics at the University of Cambridge but who is required by the Faculty of Mathematics to take, in the first instance, the course leading to the Master of Advanced Study (MASt) in Mathematics.
Duration of award(s): The Ramanujan Studentship is normally awarded for nine months in the first instance, while the student takes the course leading to the MASt in Mathematics. Subject to completion of the MASt with a Distinction and registration for the PhD degree, the Studentship will then be renewed for up to three further years, subject to satisfactory progress.
What does it cover? For a student who has no support or only partial support from any other source, the studentship covers:
-Graduate Course Fees,
-maintenance allowance (at up to the minimum rate set by the University), and a
-return ticket from India to the United Kingdom.
If the Studentship is renewed for the PhD, another return ticket from India to the United Kingdom will be awarded. The applicant may also be considered for a discretionary maintenance allowance for the period between completion of the MASt and commencement of PhD.
Notification: Applicants who are short-listed will be invited to submit a full studentship application form by 19 February 2016.
