NAHSSS Allied Health Undergraduate (Entry Level) Scholarships in Australia, 2017

The Commonwealth Department of Health is offering NAHSSS Allied Health Undergraduate (Entry Level) Scholarships for Australian students. These scholarships are open to students enrolled or intending to enrol in an eligible course.
The Australian Government aims to consolidate and build on workforce programs to ensure they better align with, and are able to respond to the needs of health professionals to train and practice, particularly in clinical areas and locations of particular need.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate programme.
Study Subject: The Undergraduate (Entry-Level) Scholarship Stream is profession and course specific, the eligible allied health professions under the scholarship stream are: Aboriginal Health Worker (Cert IV and above only), Audiology, Chinese Medicine, Chiropractic, Dental & Oral Health, Dietetics & Nutrition, Exercise Physiology (ESSA Exercise & Sports Science Australia approved course), Genetic Counselling (Postgraduate/CPD only), Medical Radiation Science, Medical Imaging, Nuclear Medicine Technology Radiation Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Orthoptics, Osteopathy, Paramedics, Paramedics/Nursing Combined Degree (SARRAH will only fund 1 year of this course), Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Prosthetics and Orthotics, Psychology (Postgraduate only in Health, Counselling and Neuro Psychology), Social Work (AASW Australian Association of Social Workers approved courses only), Speech Pathology and  Sonography
Scholarship Award: There will be only one scholarship round offered in the 2017 calendar year.
Scholarship can be taken in Australia
Eligibility: Applicants will be assessed against the following criteria and the applicants that meet the following eligibility criteria have an equal opportunity to receive a scholarship under this scholarship stream.
  • An Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia. Enrolled, intending to enrol or have applied to enrol as a full-time or part-time student in an accredited/approved Australian undergraduate or entry – level allied health course.
  • Not in receipt of another scholarship or bursary funded by the Australian Department of Health. The only exception being the NAHSSS Allied Health Clinical Placement Scholarship also administered by SARRAH.
  • Applicants must currently live, or have resided in a defined Australian rural area classification of 2 to 5 for a minimum of 5 consecutive or 8 cumulative years from the age of five. Rural Residency is assessed from home address, so for boarding school and university students, the principal home address is the place where you would normally reside (i.e. parental address) if you were not attending school or university. If your parents are separated or divorced, it will be the address of the parent with whom you live with for the majority of each calendar year. Where you have had more than one principal home address during a year, the location where you resided for most of the time, as calculated in months, will be the home address for that year.
Nationality: Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia can apply for this NAHSSS scholarship.

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must be enrolled, intending to enrol or have applied to enrol as a full-time or part-time student in a university course that is, accredited/approved by the professional body for the particular health profession, or its specific course accrediting organisation.

Commonwealth Shared Scholarships for Master’s Courses in UK, 2017

Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the United Kingdom (CSC) in partnership with UK universities offers Commonwealth Shared Scholarships for students from developing Commonwealth countries. Shared Scholarships are usually tenable for one-year Master’s courses only.
The purpose of the scholarship is to contribute to development needs of Commonwealth countries by providing training for skilled and qualified professionals and academics who would not otherwise have been able to study in the UK.
The Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) is one of the largest and most prestigious scholarship schemes for international study in the world. Since it was established in 1959, around 30,000 individuals have benefited – 25,000 of them have held awards funded by the UK government, managed by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the United Kingdom (CSC).
If applicants require a Tier 4 visa to come to the UK to study, they may be required to take an approved English language test and/or be screened for tuberculosis for your visa application. These regulations are subject to change at any time.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing master’s degree program at UK Institutions.
Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded to study subjects related to the development of their home country at participating UK universities only.
Scholarship Award: Shared Scholarships are jointly funded by the CSC and participating UK universities. Each Scholarship provides:
  • Approved airfare from your home country to the UK and return at the end of your award (arranged by the university; funded by the CSC)
  • Approved tuition and examination fees (funded by the CSC)
  • Stipend (living allowance) at the rate of £1,043 per month, or £1,279 per month for those studying at universities in the London metropolitan area (rates quoted at 2016-2017 levels) (paid and funded by the university)
  • Warm clothing allowance (paid and funded by the university)
  • Study travel grant towards the costs of study-related travel within the UK or overseas (claimed from and paid by the university; funded by the CSC)
  • Excess baggage allowance, up to an annual approved limit, when returning home (claimed from and paid by the university; funded by the CSC)
Scholarship can be taken in the UK
Eligibility: To apply for these scholarships, applicants must:
  • Be a Commonwealth citizen, refugee, or British protected person
  • Be permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country
  • Be available to start your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2017
  • By August 2017, hold a first degree of either first or upper second class (2:1) classification, or lower second class (2:2) classification plus a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree)
  • Not have studied or worked for one (academic) year or more in a developed country
  • Be unable, either yourself or through your family, to pay to study in the UK

Some universities may require you to complete their own admissions application form as well, which may have a separate closing date. They must take the necessary steps to secure admission to your chosen course(s) at your preferred university/universities at the same time as applying for a Shared Scholarship.
  • Applicants can apply for more than one course and/or to more than one university, but you may only accept one offer of a Shared Scholarship. The CSC will not accept any applications that are not submitted via the EAS to your UK university or applications directly from individuals.

INSEAD L’Oreal Scholarship for International Students, 2017

INSEAD L’Oreal Scholarship is available for undertaking MBA program at INSEAD campuses. International students who demonstrate a capacity for creativity, innovation through diversity and entrepreneurial activity are eligible for this scholarship.
L’Oreal funds one MBA scholarship per class at INSEAD with the explicit purpose of fostering: creativity, diversity and entrepreneurial spirit.

Test Requirement: GMAT: GMAT reporting code (through Pearson Vue) is INSEAD: DL3-S8-89 MBA, Full Time. INSEAD does not have a minimum required GMAT score. Rather than focusing on the overall score, they assess individual results in the quantitative and verbal sections of the exam. They need a student to demonstrate their strengths in both. In order to be competitive, a student should aim to achieve a score at or above the 70 – 75 percentiles in both the quantitative and verbal sections. GRE: INSEAD accepts GRE scores. The ETS code to report the score to INSEAD is 0970 and the score is valid for five years.
