2016 Great Britain Scholarships for Indian Students in UK

British Council is offering 291 scholarships for Indian students of worth over 1.5 million pounds in 2016-17 academic year. 45 UK institutions across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are participating in this programme.

A total of 59 undergraduate and 232 postgraduate awards will be offered for a range of subjects ranging from Engineering, Law, Art and Design and Information Technology.

The British Council is the international organization for education opportunities which offers a wide range of specialized projects in arts, education and English language.

If applicants living outside the UK and not an EEA or Swiss national they might need to take an English language test approved by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI).

Course Level: The scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degree level.

Study Subject: Scholarships are provided in the field of Engineering, Law and Business to Art & Design, Biosciences and IT.

Scholarship Award: The British Council is offering scholarships worth over 1.5 million pounds.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Applicants can see the entry requirements for each undergraduate and postgraduate course on the university or college’s website.

For undergraduate courses applicants usually need to have achieved further education qualifications (such as A-levels, International Baccalaureate, Scottish Highers, or equivalent qualifications from applicants country) in related subjects.

For postgraduate courses applicants usually need to have achieved a relevant undergraduate qualification.

In some cases, work experience may count towards entry to a course.

Test Requirement: Different universities require different test scores and even within institutions, these are often higher for courses such as medicine and law. Accepted tests are : International English Language Testing System (IELTS), Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic), Cambridge English Language Assessment.

English Language Requirements: Applicants might need to take a specific English language test to get a place on a course. If applicants living outside the UK and not an EEA or Swiss national they might need to take an English language test approved by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI)
