2018 Three-year Fully Funded PhD Scholarship in Public Health, Australia

The Curtin University is offering three-year fully-funded PhD scholarship in Public Health. The scholarship is awarded to conduct health services research that focuses on health systems and implementation science at the School of Public Health.
The Curtin University is an Australian public research university based in Bentley and Perth, Western Australia. The university is named after the 14th Prime Minister of Australia, John Curtin, and is the largest university in Western Australia, with over 58,000 students (as of 2016).
If English is not your first language then you will need to show that your English language skills are at a high enough level to succeed in your studies.

Eligibility for the Scholarship:

  • Eligible Countries: International students can apply for these scholarships.
  • Entrance Requirements: The successful candidate will have:
    A Masters degree in a relevant discipline requiring the completion of a publicly available thesis or research project to an acceptable standard OR
    A Bachelors degree with first class honours O
    Graduated with a bachelor degree (with first class or upper second honours) and completed a postgraduate diploma or its equivalent, or completed a master degree by coursework, with, in both cases, a course-weighted average of not less than 70 percent within the University, and demonstrated the capacity to undertake significant research
    Additionally, they should:
    Have strong numeric skills and an interest in quantitative research;
    Preferably have experience in research and/or the use of statistical packages; and
    Preferably have experience of publishing peer-reviewed research.

2017 University of Newcastle and Commonwealth Government Scholarships, Australia

University and Commonwealth Government Scholarships are available for international applicants. These scholarships are available to undertake research higher degree programme at the University of Newcastle.

The aim of the Commonwealth Government Scholarship is to enable and encourage academically able students from any nationality.
The University of Newcastle, informally known as Newcastle University, an Australian public university established in 1965, has its primary campus in Callaghan, a suburb of Newcastle, New South Wales.
Applicants must have completed at least four years of undergraduate study and have attained Honours Class 1 or equivalent and a high grade point average (GPA) and satisfy the English proficiency requirement (IELTS of at least 6.5).
Course Level: Scholarships are available to undertake research higher degree programme.
Study Subject: Scholarships are offered in diverse fields to help students in upgrading their education.
Scholarship Award: 
  • Stipend The RTP Stipend provides a full-time living allowance of $26,682 per annum (2017 rate). The stipend is indexed annually and will be paid fortnightly through the University Payroll Office. Part-time stipends are taxable. The part-time living allowance is $13,341 per annum (2017 rate).
  • The R&I Global Engagement, UNRSC, UNRSC50:50, UNRSC25:75 and VIED scholarships provide a full-time living allowance of $26,682 per annum (2017 rate). Full-time living allowances are indexed annually and will be paid fortnightly through the University Payroll Office. Part-time stipends are taxable.   • Relocation Allowance The RTP Allowance provides a relocation allowance of $1,500 will be paid to scholars who have relocated to Newcastle or Ourimbah from an overseas country to take up their scholarship award. This will be paid as a lump sum payment and included in the first pay.
  • Scholars who relocate to Newcastle or Ourimbah from within Australia will be eligible for a relocation allowance of up to $1,500 upon production of tax invoices/receipts relating to the relocation. Expenses claimable include: Travel to Newcastle/Ourimbah equivalent to the economy/student airfare, for scholar, spouse and dependents; , Removalist expenses, A per kilometre allowance if travelling by car, as determined by the University, up to the equivalent economy/student airfare costs. Scholars cannot claim for accommodation, meal costs, or direct petrol costs;
  • The maximum total amount payable for relocation allowance is $1,500.
  • The R&I Global Engagement, UNRSC, UNRSC50:50, UNRSC25:75 and VIED scholarships provide the same relocation allowance as the RTP Allowance.
  • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) For international scholars receiving an RTP Stipend, R&I Global Engagement, UNRSC, UNRSC50:50 or UNRSC25:75, OSHC will be provided for the duration of the visa. VIED scholars will be covered for single overseas student health cover for the duration of the visa. Candidates are personally required to cover the cost of OSHC for any period of Visa where OSHC is not funded by a scholarship, for example ELICOS and/or extension of candidature beyond the two (MPhil) or four year (PhD) tenure.

Eligibility: Eligibility criteria based on Commonwealth Government Scholarship Guidelines and candidates must:
  • Satisfy the English proficiency requirement (IELTS of at least 6.5)
  • Have a current offer of admission into a research higher degree.
  • Have completed at least four years of undergraduate study and have attained Honours Class 1 or equivalent and a high grade point average (GPA)
  • Be no more than two full-time equivalent years into their PhD (or one year for Masters) at the latest outcome date for the round in which they are applying.
Nationality: International Students are eligible to apply.

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have completed at least four years of undergraduate study and have attained Honours Class 1 or equivalent and a high grade point average (GPA).
Test Requirement: No

2018 Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarship for International Students, Australia

Each year Australian Government awards Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarship for international students.  The scholarships are offered to undertake a postgraduate qualification at a Master’s or PhD level either by coursework or research in any field of study.
Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarship aim to build Australia’s reputation for excellence in the provision of education and research, support the internationalisation of the Australian higher education and research sectors and offer high-achieving individuals from overseas and Australia opportunities to increase their productivity and expertise in their field.
The Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships are the Australian Government’s competitive, merit-based scholarships and fellowships providing opportunities for Australians to undertake study, research or professional development overseas and for overseas citizens to do the same in Australia.
IELTS overall score of 6.5 with no individual band less than 6.0.
Course Level: Scholarships are available to undertake a postgraduate qualification at a Master’s or PhD level either by coursework or research at Australian universities.
Study Subject(s): There are no limitations on fields of study for the Award categories.
Scholarship Award: All recipients will receive:
  • Travel allowance: $3,000 (provision to pay up to $4,500 under special circumstances)
  • Establishment allowance: $2,000 (fellowships) or $4,000 (scholarships)
  • Monthly stipend: $3,000 (paid up to the maximum category duration on a pro-rata basis)
  • Health insurance for the full category duration (OSHC for international recipients)
  • Travel insurance (excluding during program for international recipients)
Scholarship can be taken in Australia
Eligibility: To be eligible to receive an Endeavour scholarship or fellowship, applicants must:
  • Be aged 18 years or over at the commencement of their programme
  • Be a citizen and/or permanent resident of a participating country
  • Commence their proposed programme after 1 January 2017 and no later than 30 November 2017. Applicants who have already commenced or will commence their intended programme prior to 2017 are not eligible to apply
  • Provide all relevant supporting documentation
  • Not currently hold or have completed, after 1 January 2015, an Australian Government sponsored scholarship and/or fellowship (directly administered to recipients by the Australian Government).
  • Not apply for a category in which they have already completed an Endeavour scholarship or fellowship

College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirement: All applicants (excluding Endeavour Executive Fellowships) must provide a certified copy: f their final full version* numerically weighted Bachelor or Masters transcript that includes subjects and scores. A PhD transcript does not show suitable detail for panel assessment, therefore applicants must provide at least a Bachelor or Masters transcript. A PhD transcript alone will render an application ineligible. Do not include certificates.
If an applicant has not completed an undergraduate degree but will complete by 31 December 2016, they must provide a letter from their university to state when completion is expected. A condition will be placed on their application and a final transcript will be required if they are successful in receiving a scholarship offer.

English Language Requirements: IELTSoverall score of 6.5 with no individual band less than 6.0.

2017 Dean’s Excellence in Science PhD Scholarships for International Applicants, Australia

The Faculty of Science is offering a limited number of prestigious postgraduate research scholarships to academically outstanding international and domestic students wishing to undertake a research doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in the Faculty of Science. The scholarship package is awarded for three years, subject to satisfactory progress, with a possible extension of up to six months.
The aim of the scholarship is to enable and encourage academically able students from any nationality.
The University of Western Australia is a research-intensive university in Perth, Australia that was established by an act of the Western Australian Parliament in February 1911 and began teaching students for the first time in 1913.
Applicants must meet the requirements for entry to the nominated course including satisfying the requirements.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for Ph.D. degree programme at the university of Western Australia.
Study Subject: Scholarships are tenable in Science at the University of Western Australia.
Scholarship Award: All Dean’s Excellence in Science Ph.D. Scholars will receive a scholarship package which includes:

International Students
  • Meet the requirements for entry to the nominated course including satisfying the requirements
  • Have a bachelor’s degree with first class honours (H1) or equivalent
  • Be eligible to enrol or be enrolled as a full-time student in a higher degree by research (HDR) in an area of research concentration at the University upon commencement of their scholarship
  • Not have commenced an HDR prior to the year for which the scholarship is sought unless the applicant was unable to apply for a scholarship in the last selection round due to the timing of their enrolment;
  • Be a citizen of an overseas country, excluding New Zealand
  • Meet the University’s English language requirements for HDR scholarship holders
  • Not have completed a degree either at the same level as, or at a higher level than, the degree for which candidature is sought
  • Not be an overseas student who is currently on an Australian Government sponsored scholarship such as Australian Awards Development Scholarship seeking to apply for an IPRS immediately following the Australian Awards Development Scholarship funded study. Such candidates must meet the terms and conditions of these awards prior to applying for future funding. This applies to students under the Australian Sponsored Training Scholarships (ASTAS), the Equity and Merit Scholarship Scheme (EMSS) and the Australian Development Scholarships (ADS).
Nationality: Australian and international applicants are eligible to apply.

2017 University of Melbourne International Postgraduate Coursework Awards (IPCA), Australia

T is pleased to offer up to 28 scholarships for international students in -2018 academic session. Scholarships will be awarded to undertake postgraduate degree program in any discipline.
The University of Melbourne aims to assist international students who require financial assistance with scholarships.
Established in 1853, the University of Melbourne is a public-spirited institution that makes distinctive contributions to society in research, learning and teaching and engagement. It is consistently ranked among the leading universities in the world, with international rankings of world universities placing it as number 1 in Australia and number 33 in the world (Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2015-2016).
Applicants must not be in receipt of any other tuition fee remission scholarship or sponsorship which, in combination with the IPCA, exceeds 100% of tuition fees. The University of Melbourne TOEFL Institution Code is 0974. Please use this code so that your results can be reported to us. Some faculties may accept graduate students with a slightly lower IELTS, TOEFL, Pearson Test of English or CAE score.

  • Not be in receipt of any other tuition fee remission scholarship or sponsorship which, in combination with the IPCA, exceeds 100% of tuition fees; and
  • Not have received any other scholarship provided by the Australian Government in the last 2 years.
Nationality: International Postgraduate Coursework Awards (IPCA) are open for international students.
Entrance Requirement: Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand and not a permanent resident of Australia.
Test Requirement: Not required
English Language Requirements: The University of Melbourne TOEFL Institution Code is 0974. Please use this code so that results can be reported to us. Some faculties may accept graduate students with a slightly lower IELTS, TOEFL, Pearson Test of English or CAE score.
