Plymouth University offers a range of financial support to help applicants during their time with university. Once all conditions of their offer have been met and the tuition fee deposit has been paid, we’ll then confirm the scholarship award and issue their unconditional offer letter or CAS.  Don’t forget to send:

• Completed and signed application form.
• Original, or certified copies, of qualifications to date, for example first degree certificate and full transcripts.
• Two references; at least one from an academic who has taught them. Both must be on headed paper and in sealed envelopes, signed across the seal by their referees.
• A copy of the information page of current passport (inform us immediately if they get a new passport at any time before they come to the UK to study).
• A copy of any previous or current UK visa.
• Any English language qualification they have to date – for example: IELTS or PTE Academic.
• Curriculum vitae (CV) or resume detailing relevant work experience, if they feel it will contribute to their application.

Adelaide Scholarships International (ASI) for Overseas Applicants in Australia, 2017

Adelaide Scholarships International (ASI) for pursuing Higher Degree by Research (Masters/ Doctoral) at University of Adelaide. International students can apply for these scholarships.

The University of Adelaide aims to create and engender a university culture that values health, safety and wellbeing as fundamental components of the work environment, supported by safe systems of work, appropriate governance, training, management structures and operational strategies.

The University of Adelaide is one of Australia’s most prestigious universities and is renowned internationally for excellence in education and research.

In order to be eligible applicants are required to have successfully completed at least the equivalent of an Australian First Class Honours degree

Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing Higher Degree by Research (Masters/ Doctoral) at University of Adelaide.

Study Subject:Scholarships are awarded to study any of the courses offered by the University of Adelaide.

Scholarship Award: The ASI provides

• Course tuition fees for two years for a Master degree by Research and three years for a Doctoral research degree (an extension is possible for doctoral programs only),
• An annual living allowance ($26,288 in 2016) for two years for a Master degree by Research and three years for a Doctoral research degree (an extension is possible for doctoral programs only), and
• For Postgraduate Research (Subclass 574) visa holders, the award provides compulsory standard Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Worldcare policy for the student and their spouse and dependents (if any) for the standard duration of the student visa.  It does not cover the additional 6-month extended student visa period post thesis submission. If the award holder does not hold a subclass 574 visa then he/she is responsible for the cost of health insurance.

Scholarship can be taken in the Australia

Eligibility: In order to be eligible

• Applicants are required to have successfully completed at least the equivalent of an Australian First Class Honours degree (this is a four-year degree with a major research project in the final year). All qualifying programs of study must be successfully completed.
• Scholarships will be awarded on academic merit and research potential. Extra-curricular achievements are not considered.
• International applicants must not hold a research qualification regarded by the University of Adelaide to be equivalent to an Australian Research Doctorate degree or, if undertaking a Research Master degree, not hold a research qualification regarded by the University of Adelaide to be equivalent to or higher than an Australian Research Master degree.
• International applicants who have not provided evidence of their meeting the minimum English language proficiency requirements for direct entry by the scholarship closing date, or who have completed a Pre-Enrolment English Program to meet the entry requirements for the intended program of study, are not eligible.
• Citizens and Permanent Residents of Australia, and citizens of New Zealand are ineligible.
• Those undertaking research via remote candidature is ineligible.
• Candidates are required to enrol in the University of Adelaide as ‘international students’ and must maintain ‘international student’ status for the duration of their enrolment in the University.
• Candidates who have applied for Australian permanent resident status can apply for ASI scholarships.
• International applicants are not eligible if they have already commenced the degree for which they are seeking an award unless they can establish that they were unable to apply in the previous round.
• Scholarships holders must commence study at the University of Adelaide in the semester the scholarship is offered.
• Applicants who applied and were eligible for consideration in an international scholarship round, and were unsuccessful, will automatically be reconsidered in the following international scholarship round, assuming they hold a valid offer of candidature for that intake. An applicant who has been considered in 2 rounds cannot be reconsidered in any future scholarship rounds.
• The offer of a scholarship is contingent upon a student not being offered another award by the Commonwealth of Australia, the University of Adelaide, or an overseas sponsor. The University reserves the right to withdraw an offer of a scholarship at any time prior to enrolment if it is advised that an awardee has been offered a scholarship equal to or in excess of the financial value of the award offered by the University.

Lincoln University is inviting applications for Global Challenges Scholarship for international students. The scholarship is available to pursue an undergraduate degree programme.

Applicants will need to create a  MyLinc account, apply for their chosen course of study and then apply for the scholarship. Applicants can change their course of study at any time, even after they have submitted their applications. University will need the following information to process their Global Challenges Scholarship application:
• A short video outlining their interest in a current global issue, to be uploaded to Vimeo
• The details of two referees
• Their acknowledgement that they agree to  terms and conditions, including the privacy policy.

UTS President’s Scholarship (UTSP) for International Students in Australia, 2016

he University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) is offering president’s scholarship to selected international students of exceptional research potential. The scholarship is available for pursuing masters by research and doctoral research programs.

UTS President’s Scholarship aims to assist high achieving and highly motivated international students who have been offered a full-time place at the University of Technology, Sydney. Scholarship is open to highly ranked research students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and research potential.

The University of Technology Sydney is a university in Sydney, Australia. The university was founded in its current form in 1988, although its origins trace back to the 1870s. It is part of the Australian Technology Network of universities.

Applicants must have completed a bachelor degree with first class honours, or be regarded by the University as having an equivalent level.

Course Level: Scholarship is available for pursuing masters by research and doctoral research programs at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS).

Study Subject(s): Scholarship is awarded to study any course available at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS).

Scholarship Provider: The value of the UTSP stipend shall be equal to the value of an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) offered by the Australian Department of Innovation, Industry Science and Research (DIISR). The annual stipends for 2016 are:

•  $26,288 (currently tax-free) for full-time study mode; and
• $13,144 (currently taxable) for part-time study mode. The UTSP stipend rates are indexed annually from the 1st of January every year.

This stipend is paid in equal fortnightly instalments to the student bank account. Under current legislation stipends to full-time students are free of income tax.

Scholarship can be taken in Australia

Eligibility: To be eligible for a UTSP, a student must:

• be an overseas student as defined in the Higher Education Support Act 2003; and
• be a holder of an international student visa, meeting requirements as specified by the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA), including the requirement to purchase and maintain a standard Overseas Student Health Cover policy approved by the Commonwealth Government Department of Health and Ageing; and
• have completed a Bachelor Degree with First Class Honours, or be regarded by the University as having an equivalent level of attainment in accordance with clause (c) have completed a Bachelor Degree with First Class Honours, or be regarded by the University as having an equivalent level of attainment in accordance with clause
• and (d) where applicants do not hold a Bachelor degree with First Class Honours in clause (c) above, the University may determine that the applicant has demonstrated an equivalent level of academic attainment. In determining an equivalent level of academic attainment, the University may consider previous study, relevant work experience, research publications, referees’ reports and other research experience; and
• be undertaking a higher degree by research (HDR) at the University in the year of the UTSP (UTSPs are not available to applicants whose enrolment into a postgraduate research program has not been accepted by the University); and
• be commencing full-time enrolment for the first time in a higher degree by research (HDR) at the University. The University may also consider students who: i. commenced their HDR in the previous year but who, due to the timing of their application and subsequent enrolment, were unable to apply for the scholarship in that year; or ii. commenced an HDR and terminated that enrolment within six months of commencement; and iii. are nominated by their Faculty/Institute for strategic reasons related to their research project; and
• not have completed a degree at the same or higher level as the proposed candidature; and
• must not previously have held an Australian Government-funded postgraduate research scholarship unless it was terminated within six months of the scholarship’s payments commencing; and
• must not be receiving an equivalent award, scholarship or salary providing a benefit greater than 75% of the UTSP stipend rate to undertake the HDR. Income earned from sources unrelated to the course of study is not subject to the 75% rule. (j) be a recipient of a UTS International Research Scholarship (UTS IRS)

-Before admission, applicants must have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree with first or upper second class honours, or a master’s degree at an equivalent standard at a New Zealand university.
-Alternatively, student may enroll initially in a master’s degree and then be allowed to transfer to the PhD.
-In exceptional circumstances; applicant may be permitted to enroll without meeting these criteria if they have extensive relevant experience.

English Language Requirement: Victoria’s English language requirements are strict and not negotiable. If student’s first language is not English, they must provide evidence of English proficiency before they will be accepted as a PhD candidate. Requirements are:
-TOEFL 575 with (preferably) a TWE of 5, or 237 on the computer-based test; or 90 on the internet-based test with a minimum of 20 in writing; or
-IELTS overall band of 6.5, no sub-score below 6; or
-CAE grade B; or
-a minimum of two ratings of 5 and two ratings of 4 in the Victoria University English proficiency programme test.
